The Surgery

The dental practice is fully computerised with three modern surgeries equipped with fibre optics, digital x-rays etc. There is a nice modern calming feel to the building with a little garden in the middle.

NHS and Private Treatment

We are not currently accepting NHS patients. Fees and guidelines for NHS treatment are set by the Department of Health. We work within this structure with respect to the amount of time spent with each patient, the dental materials used and the dental laboratory. In some circumstances the dentist may suggest a private alternative, for example to achieve the best cosmetic result. If you do not wish to have private treatment, appropriate NHS treatment will be provided. Fees for private treatment are calculated taking into account surgery time, the cost of materials and laboratory bills.

For private patients, we also offer the 'Denplan' payment scheme. For an affordable monthly payment you receive all the necessary care from your dentist to help you maintain a healthy mouth for life. This includes National and Worldwide emergency dental cover. Click here or ask the dentist for further information.

Payment is expected at the end of each appointment. If you are unsure of the cost of treatment please ask your dentist.

Special Services for Patients

Bathampton surgery has wheelchair access and facilities. When you arrange your first appointment please tell us if you have any special requirements. Some people suffer from deep seated anxieties about dentistry; we understand and strive to make your experience as pleasant as possible. Children are always welcome, however young. We aim to prevent dental disease rather than treat it at a later date and try to make coming to the dentist a fun experience not a scary one. If any aspect of your dental appearance concerns you, no matter how trivial it may seem, please discuss it with us.

Complaints Procedure

If you need to make a suggestion, comment or complaint please contact the practice on 01225 485303 or email bathampton.dental@nhs.net or by using the practice details below. Please mark for the attention of practice management. We will then do our best to resolve your concerns.

We regularly analyse patient complaints to learn from them and to improve our services. That's why we always welcome your feedback, comments, suggestions and complaints. If you are dissatisfied with our response to a complaint you can take the matter further, please see the contacts below.

GDC private dental complaints service can be contacted by calling 0208 253 0800 or visiting www.dentalcomplaints.org.uk.

If you are still unhappy about your NHS complaint, you can contact NHS England at england.contactus@nhs.net with 'For the attention of the compaints team' in the subject line.

You can also contact the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who regulates private and NHS dental care services in England by calling 03000 616161. They can take action against a service provider that is not meeting their standards who may be able to help.
